I am interested as well. I'm particularly interested in how tough this cam is on springs and if you live in an "EPA ****" county like I do, how easy were you able to pass emmissions?

The specs for this cam were originally designed by me and Jayson (owner of MTI) for my '02 Z28. The idea was to make better on the concept of the "Old Man Cam." I feel like we did just that.
Bearcat, here is what Jayson had to say yesterday about the spring issue with this cam...
"When installing just a camshaft, we have not found a better single spring than the Manley. They have a higher spring pressure than the Comp 918s and have had a great record for reliability. My personal opinion on spring changes is that they should be performed every 2 years with mild driving and every 18 months or so with aggressive driving. I'll typically see a small drop in spring pressures after a year of driving but it typically is not great enough to warrant changing them out."
BTW, we've been working on a variation of this cam. It's already made and we'll be testing it soon (no guarantees that it'll outperform the original Stealth cam. It may or may not.) Stay tuned.

Shoot Col, If you helped designing that cam, I have no more questions, Im guetting one period!!
Well maybe one last one: Should I change lifters? I got 35K's on mine.

I hope you don't think I'm being silly, but I don't want anyone testing the SS2 cam before I do so I'll be keeping the specs to myself for now (not that they're anything revolutionary or anything. More like slightly evolutionary.) It isn't a drastic change from the SS1, I'll say that. I don't want to take any of the fun out of it for myself.

BTW, we've been working on a variation of this cam.
Assuming it's also a "stealth" cam, I'm assuming the goals would at least be the same to a point:
- good [if not stock sounding] idle
- maximum power increase at all RPMs
- good for emissions
So, you must have concluded there is something wrong, or not optimized, on the original Stealth cam, thus the experimentation for a new profile.
If I were to guess, I would say you are trying to get the same power increase without the high lift, and maybe add a bit of overlap, with either an increased duration, split duration, tighter lsa, or a combination of the above, all while retaining a good idle. Sounds like the magic cam that a lot of people have been waiting for, including me!
