Re: People with TR224 cams or 224 XE-R cams come inside..
Vince, I appreciate the thread! Will have a jpeg of my graphs tomorrow to post in the thread.
Since many cams lose ~1 of LSA when Comp grinds them, my 224 XE-R cam was spec'd as a 113 LSA with 4 degrees advance ground in. The cam doctor showed the cam was ground with 1 degree of retard, giving ~3 actual degress of advance. Due to P to V issues because my heads were cut ~.020 to ~.030 the cam was installed with ~2 degrees advance to keep the P to V safe at .075 clearance on the intake side and ~.100 on the exhaust. Cam was degreed in.
224 XE-R with actual LSA of ~112 installed 2 degrees advanced.
Since heads were recived full of metal shavings because they were not cleaned after being decked, they had to come apart. All spring pressures were tested and in spec. Install heights were checked and confirmed. Valve job was inspected etc to make sure everything set up correctly.
Atap show ~27 degrees timing with .1 to .3 degrees of KR. O2's, Ltrims etc were all where they should be. I don't have a O2 A/F because the dyno wasn't set up to give a print out of the A/F verse rpm. At the first dyno session thru the exhaust was 407rwhp thru the cut out was 408rwhp. At the second dyno 408 thru exhaust and 408 thru cut out. We let the car sit and cool down for 45 minutes, it made on pull at 418rwhp thru cut out Next pull was 413rwhp.
Looks like my 224 XE-R is peaking lower than anyone elses.

I got my cam today was wondering where it will peak its is a 224/224 .570/.570 110lsa.
I was hoping it would peak near 6000 rpm. does that sound right?

Vince mine peaks around 5900 as well and it was installed straight up with 4 degrees of advance built in. This was with the SLP headers on also.
