Default Looking to Swap Cams, need some input!

Yeah the same old cam Questions:
I wanna cam for Nitrous, lots of it, minimum of 150shots, and some probably higher. Going with mostly stock set up, but not real deep on the valve relief requirements, as looking into heads milled .030 for more compression, or use 5.3L heads, havent got that far yet. Will be swapping for an LS6 intake as well.

My thoughts, 226-228/230-234 .565-.575/.580-.590 @ 114-115lsa...no idea on ICL, want to be able to install straight up so no need to degree the cam on install.

Why, wide lsa keeping cyl pressure high, lower lifts easier on springs, even though they will handle more, and total swag on the amount of duration other than the gas will bring in all the intake charge i could want. Maybe a slight loss NA, but aint worried about that.

TIA,

Charlie.

For a 150 shot the cam you have is fine. Anything larger would require a more exhaust bias cam. Remember that NOS will increase your power band by up to 500 RPM's. How high do you want to takc this thing. I would try the cam you have and see what happens.

BoeTie...I have been spraying this cam, and more than a 150shot. I am wanna take this thing to the next level. Way I see it, I really cant lose much on my NA, but I wanna gain the full amount from the juice and I know this cam is not holding all the cylinder pressure. Also, I know N2O likes a wider LSA which is fine with me, spin this beast to the moon, when she lets go, get a better pisotn and rod combo.

What shiftpoints?

If you are running big shots I would go with way more exhaust duration.
Something like 230/244 on 114LSA

That should work with a 6600-6800rpm shiftpoint and make crazy power on spray. I assume you are going to run good rods, rod bolts etc right?
Cheers,
Chris

Chris what P2V am I looking at with stock heads milled .030", would a E-244* be ok?
Holy ****, sounds nice if I didnt have to cut reliefs. I figured I would runt the cam for a little while then change everythign else out. just my way i guess.

keep em comin.

Exactly, if you are going with a big shot of nos you will need an exhaust bias cam. Have you noticed how well stock cams do with NOS. I have seen stock motors run 11.3 with a 125 shot. 202/210 117 lsa = good NOS cam. Just increase the size to your rpm requirements. I wouldn't go that large though. Maybe a 220/228 on a 114 lsa. Remember, the higher the lsa the more cylinder pressure your car should make as long as you set up the cam to have minimal overlap. With NOS overlap is bad. You loose cylinder pressure, raw fuel and unused NOS.

ttt. Chris or anyone else know about P2V clearance with a 230/244 /570/.585 @ 114
or whats close enough for clearnace with .030 off stock heads (might as well go more compression too).
