Valve springs install. What Happened?
#21
well the GM way is definetly the rite way to go. thats basicly how i have done every 454 or old 350, when i've put i cam in and had to adjust the valve lash. But i got a trick for you, so u dont have to pull the front cover. cylinder 1 & 6 are companion cylinders, so when #6 is on valve over lap, #1 is on top dead center. ( What u got to do is, watch #6 valves as ur rotateing the engine in the standard direction. and where you want to stop it is rite when the ehaust valve closes and the intake just starts to crack open a hair. Now yoyr #1 is on TDC. and u can tighten ehaust 1, 2, 7, 8 and on the intake side 1, 3, 4, 5. now to do the remaining valves you just have to rotate the engine 360 Degrees, which will put #1 into valve over lap, and #6 at TDC. well thats how my tech teacher taught me, and its works great and saves you alot of time. Good luck man
