Default Which way to go. ASP Pulley or Meziere pump?

Hey guys,

This will be going into a 05 C6. We already have a ASP 25% U/D pulley and now we might be needing a new water pump. The one on the car looks like it's leaking. The car is daily driven.

Would it be a good idea to install both considering the ASP would slow the alternator down and the Meziere would demand more power?

If it's not a good idea to combine both, which one of the two would be a better one to keep.

Thanks

Is the car an Auto or Manual?? If its a manual take the UDP off asap
On other forums they say the underdrive pully causes timing chain breaks
there has to be 100 examples. Go with the Mezerie, but dont get their relay.
Get the one from Zip its plug and play!

Yes the car is a manual but the ASP pulley has not been installed just yet. Guess I'll just sell the pulley kit.

Thanks

Check on CF, There is a guy on the CF Performance section with a Lingenfelter built motor broke 2 timing chains with a manual car. These were brand new motors!! They didnt go 1000 miles and the TC broke 2 different times.last couple of days the thread has been to the top its still ongoing.
If you cant find it ill pm you the link.

It seems from everything i've read, the ASP pulley is junk. Kind of a shame being that's what I run. I guess I will be upgrading to an ATI

As far as the origonal question, you should be fine running an underdrive with the electric water pump. Myself and others have ran subs/amps in our 6 speeds with underdrive pulleys and earlier fan-on temps without any issues.

ive never heard of the timing chain breaking with and udp, what cause it makes the motor rev quicker?

can someone post up some links to this happening? and is the udp mainly to blame?

reason i ask is i just put an SLP udp on my car about a week ago, i have noticed no cooling/charging/steering problems. i havent got on it enough to tell if its a worhwhile mod yet.

my car has a LS6 block with 241 heads.

ASP UD Pulley & Meziere Electric Water Pump

The ASP Pulley is nice as hell and I have had 0 problems with it.

I highly highly doubt a UD Pulley had anything to do with breaking a Timing Chain.

I ran both and had no problems on my 2002 ws6. Everyone that I know with a LS1 / LS6 has the ASP installed and love them . Great mod.
