Congrats Kumar. I am with you with how loosely the 600+ HP number is thrown around like everybody is making that on NA pump gas. But when you search like this deal you see that it's high compression E85 or can't idle because of a huge cam or ??? The best test is to go to the track if you can't dyno the engines side by side on the same dyno on the same day. Dyno's are like flow benches.
I believe the broad power range in drivability will be quite a difference. If 46 additional CI over a 454 makes the same power per CI then your on track. If someone wants to take advantage of the bigger bore and unshroud the valves from the 4.125" they were limited to initially then you may see additional gains. I do believe the 90mm Throttle body is hurting even on the 102 intake from your KPA #'s.

Hilarious. These thread reads just like the old early 2000's threads with people bantering about the virtue of spinning a stock stroke high versus the 4" strokes having "crazy piston speeds" and "heads that don't breath enough" and "torque breaks things".

Time marches on and within the next 5 years 4.500 stroke engines will be the new 427 and won't cost anything more than a 4" stroke engine. Right now there is exclusivity and R&D to be paid for, but the cost of the components themselves isn't much different.

Definitely the TB will help you a bit Kumar if you are pulling vacuum on top. Bigger is still better in my book everytime as long as parts can handle it!

I agree with Brian as well as these newer blocks coming out have the ability to handle more stroke than before and there is no reason not to use it!

thanks guys

the TB and custom airbridge/CAI are next on the agenda

maybe next spring I will spend the money on a new top end. want to see more results from the All Pros. i honestly dont know enough about my current LS7 heads and how much work was done to them by LG to say if they are holding me back.

in summary, i went with this setup because i cracked my original LS7 and it only costs $3000 more to get a built 500 than a similarly built 427-443.

now it's time to build the motor in the other car

Kumar,
I pulled the trigger and ordered the LPE GT21 camshaft. As for the heads I am still going to see what west coast cylinder heads has to say. Thanks for the advice. More then likely I will be using the Ferrea high performance dual valve springs, titanium retainers & valve locks to complement the cam.

WOW, everyone must be making 600+ with their NA 427s these days... Cant wait til ERL gets away from the stockish cam and bumps up the compresion quite a bit, then this 500ci will really be showing what it is capeble of.

Not really. Was concentrating on the other car and the Texas Mile.

The 102mm TBs were on backorder. Finally back in stock but I'm in no hurry now with the winter fast approaching. I'll be happy if the car consistently lays down 650/600 with the TB and speed density tune. Should be plenty to make a 9 second pass. The next big step would be better heads but this isn't an all out build and I'm too lazy to do more testing unless someone else shows me a 700rw combo.

Kumar, You probably know more than I do since you are waiting but doesn't ERL themselves now have a 102 TB as well or is that the one you are waiting on? My computer is going crazy so I can't read this whole thread.
