Default 4-Barrel EFI on 400 cube plus motors???

I'm looking into getting a Vic Junior Intake & a Edelbrock 4-Barrel TB with a plate kit for my 408, but i haven't seen many posts on people running this set-up on the street? Anyone have any suggestions on it?

I just got my throttle body in the mail the yesterday. I am going to eventually be running a super vic with an accufab 1550cfm 4150 throttle body. I have the intake, TB, crank, rods, pistons, lifters and valve springs. I still need a block, pushrods, retainers, locks, cam, bearings, rings, the rest of the dry sump parts and to have it all put together. It is a long way down the road. Look around for results. They are out there.

Make sure you get one that flows at least 1500 like Beaflag's. I have a stout 406 sbc chev with efi and Holleys 1000 cfm tb on a victor jr. I think it is holding the engine back quite a bit. It works great and has super response. It is a solid roller engine that pulls well past 7,000 rpm. I probably need a super victor with a larger tb.

Which one did you end up getting? I was told my accufab 4150 only flowed 1250.

Here is the info for each

Victor Jr = http://www.summitracing.com/parts/ED...6/?image=large

Super Victor = http://www.summitracing.com/parts/ED...5/?image=large

Basic difference is runner size and length, and fitment under standard hood.

I made an error posting that. I was typing that response out around 5am in the morning during my overnight shift at work. The throttle body I have is actually an accell. This is what it looks like and seeing it you can tell why it flows the extra 300ish cfm over a 4 bbl style:

Gotcha. That thing will definately outflow mine. The accufab has alot of material in the "bowl" area.

That TB looks good for a drag car but not so good if you drive it on the street. I think the off idle response for street driving would be questionable. I'm no pro just my 2 cents.

you are going to be cutting a lot of cowl with a plate kit, victor jr, and 4150 tb. You might lose a wiper....

Alternatives: Run the shorter intake, i.e. the GMPP one

or

Instead of a plate kit, get in contact with nitrous outlet on here. they can plumb with victor jr with a spray bar. pretty much a plate kit built into the intake. That way you won't have to run the plate/spacer between the intake and throttle body, and will give you more clearance

Vic jr efi intakes come in a 4150 flange and not in a 4500 flange. The 4150 from Wilson only flows 1136. The Accufab 4150 flows 1215 cfm. The one beaflag has flows 1550 cfm. I guess that will be the one I will be going with then.

Wilson offer adapters for that situation. You can run a 4150 at 1136 or 4500 at , 1388, 1484, or 2008.

WILSON TECH TIP - Add up to 110 CFM to 4bbl throttle body by adding a tapered spacer

I have that setup on my 370 ci motor. Victor Jr intake,Edelbrock 4150 throttle body and Zex parimeter plate kit on a NOS wet system.

When i was looking for throttle bodies i got caught up in the flow quotes. It's no different in people pushing their products by inflateing numbers to make their's just a bit better than the other. Most all of these TB are dead even with each other on flow and all the 4150 i have seen have 1 3/4 inch butterflies,so you choose which one you want.

LOL not even close to fitting. You will have to have a aftermarket hood like a wide sunoco or extended sunoco to clear that setup.

The regular sunoco will fit but it will be tight and the lip of the cowl towards the front glass will not cover the carb hat completely. I sold my sunoco to a buddy and bought the wide version to cover the intake completely along with it being taller to have enough room for the nitrous plate.
