Nothing wrong with a budget build mine is a budget as ya can get! Hell you cant get i car done as cheap as i got mine done. lol LOL all I have is ls6 intake and boltons and a cam running 11.6 and my best mph is 120 but on my 11.6 was 118mph due to hitting rev limiter full weight with 250lbs driver. the car now is 200lbs lighter . Im not saying anything bad about personal cars or anything just talking about intake to intake. I have seen a H/C c6 z06 make 15whp over stock ls7 intake.

I plain on doing a l92 headed 370ci turbo setup next. Why i will have a vic jr and stock manifolds. Also my m6 is going to b4 4sale and a powerglide will be going in

lol you guys are funny sometimes..

Wanna talk about money spent per hp?

Say my 6.0 makes 350 rwhp now. Turbo build alltogether was around 2200, shooting for 650 rwhp..

So 300 extra hp, for $2200?

That's, $7.30 per horsepower, hahaha..

My contribution was that if you're wanting a peak number to go flog all your friends with, without breaking the bank's bank, dont spend $1,300 on an intake, 1,300 is 1/3 way to a full FI setup..

Some people strive for a complete combo making the most power out of their setup. Not throwing parts together that have pretty names and make cute whistling noises and won't be reliable nor will they produce a respectable track number.

This thread is quickly deteriorating. Lets get back on track here gents. I am waiting to see some people quiet down when the 102 manifold and TB get paired up.

They do look good though, a few guys in oz have put em on with the big TB and gained about 3/10ths of **** all. A few reported some small gains but really it seems you need a big cammed stroker setup to realise any worthwile potential out of them. For $1300 I would want some decent results.

Carbon fibre lsxr installed on a VE/G8 http://www.ls1.com.au/forum/showpost...&postcount=130

cheers

as GM becomes more competitive with the rest of the world, so do their engines. Aftermarket intakes that mimic the factory will become a thing of the past. The only intake that I see ever making a difference on these motors ever again...................

is an intake that features individual throttlebodies - but will any company make those at a reasonable price???? ABSOLUTELY NOT.

Shawn Miller at VA Speed is working with one on my 427 build. Port matched with the 90mm TB it picked up about 15HP. It picked up a couple more with the big TB but time didn't allow a real test of that.

More to come here:

Here is the final graph with the FAST and a 107 NW TB.

And a dyno chronology.

427 Old Cam..................................... .......605/588

427 New Cam..................................... ......621/601

427 Port Matched FAST w/ 90mm TB............633/616

427 Shawn Miller massaged FAST/107mm TB..656/614

It looks like Shawn managed to get the FAST to produce 35hp with the FAST. Not too bad,

For me personally I'd like to see about 80-90RWHP gain out of swapping my LS6 intake and throttlebody. Figured I'd spend about $1200.00 for that with low end results giving me 1 RWHP for every $15.00 spent. But I just don't have a clue what I'd really gain with it on my setup. Keep in mind that with FI I just can add a little more boost but at the cost of higher intake temps etc.

Getting bigger injectors in the next month or so. Would be a hell of a test to borrow a 102 intake with throttlebody and see what changes take place. I just can't pony up the money for something that may not give me a net gain in the range I'd feel was acceptable. I'm sure Jim at Speed Inc. wouldn't want to retune twice for free...LOL
Once for the new injectors and once for the 102 intake just to compare them.
