Default Porting your TB to 96MM

Just wonddering why there are no post to porting the 90MM DBC TB's to 96MM when you port the LS3 intake?
Why port the intake and not open up the throttle body?

Tommrow i'm going to chuck up in the lathe my Mark Willliams TB and bore it to 96 and make a new Plate... Then Bore the NOS plate to 96..

Anyone done this yet?

That's pretty good stuff man. Heck you could probably make a few bucks doing that for people.

I made a new one today also 96MM.
Stock Mark Williams was 90MM

I will report back in a month or so to tell how it worked.. On another board some don't belive it will help any. Even Hurt my low end?

I have no idea witch is true it was just a free hop up.....

I'll do a heavy itake port and it will go on my 418 build with ported heads..

Hope it helps..

I gained 20 hp going to a fast 92 from my stock 76mm tb on a 364 cu.in. motor. I dought you will lose any going 6mm bigger on an even bigger moto then mine. I got one of the last 92mm setups. All the ls1/ls2 stuff is 102mm now.

Hurt low end? They can't be knowledgeable. Matching throttle body size with intake opening size couldn't ever be a bad thing unless somebody has a great argument to prove me otherwise.

I ported the intake with a Die grinder then a port kit. The inlet opening can be opened up to 96 MM without getting into the gasket.. And i cut out the pillers with a cable saw from Home Deopt.

Then TB i chucked up in a lathe...
