Default Vortec Max 6.0

Hey I just bought a 2007 Chevrolet 1500 4x4 with the 6.0 Vortec Max in it and the gas mileage sucks! What do I need to do to get better fuel economy? I am going to put Granatelli wires on it this weekend that I am robbing off of my jeep. What about a PCM tune? Who is the best? Thanks for any help!

Oh and I do pull a 6500 bumper pull camper about once every other month - so I don't want to ruin my towing.

I got rid of touque management and it helped my truck out alot. You can also have a tuner scale the TQ management back also if you wanted to keep it. Where are you located?

id imagine intake/exhaust would do you a lot more good than new wires..

When i think gas mileage mods, those and a tune are at the top of the list

I have a 08 VMAX ECSB 4x4 with 3.73s and factory 20s. It has a Corsa Touring catback, Blackbear tune, and is lowered 2/3. I am currently getting 16-17 in normal driving and 19-20+ on the highway.

ECSB is extended cab short bed. There used to be 3 bed lengths: short, standard, and long. If you look at the GMT900 forum in Performance Trucks (tab the the top of this page) there is all kinds of good info about our trucks.

Blackbear can be reached here http://www.blackbearperformance.com/

Smile Help with gas

We have the same kind of truck and we sell hydrogen on demand systems. We were getting 12 mpg, now we are getting 26-34 mpg no joke and it upped our horsepower to 40% more, you use only 2 cups of water per 1000 miles and won't void warranty or hurt the engine it will help it and keep the engine clean. We can help you if you want to see the system please email us at. therebelpipers@outlook.com talk to you soon.
