Default LS3 block fitting question: Threaded fitting for Oil cooler H2O line

Can anyone tell me the thread size for the Engine oil cooler coolant inlet quick connect fitting that threads into the LS3 block?

Any idea where one can purchase an aluminum blind nut that will replace it?

It looks like it could be a 3/4 NPT, but it appears to be a finer thread than a 3/4"-14 NPT.

Wow! 35 reads so far and no input. I spent about 3 hours today running around trying to find a plug that would work. It appears the this fitting is a 25mm x 1.25 pitch tapered thread.

I went to local performance car-part shops, the local metric fastener store, and the industrial hydraulic supply company that carries hydraulic fittings for imported heavy equipment. No go! Most responses in regards to the weird thread pitch was; WTF? A standard 25mm thread is 1.5mm. A 25mm x 1.25mm tapered thread is really rare. (Why did GM would pick something so unique!)

Looks like I'll have to tap the ID and put a plug in the hole and use the existing fitting. Grumble-grumble. JB weld was the only input I received from the performance shops...

Thanks for the input. I went to the dealer and they can order a replacement part, but had no details concerning the part. On LS3 engines without the external oil cooler, the hole into the block is not drilled out, thus they don't need a plug to close the hole in other engine configurations.

I decided to insert a .625 OD Al. rod in the hole and weld the hole closed.

Same question, does anyone know the thread size for this? I am using a block that has that hole drilled and I am using a LS1 fbody pan, so i wont be running the LS3 cooler. So I am just trying to plug it.

Remove it and put a corvette ofac in its place and delete the hoses to the cooler completely.

The plug you're looking for is GM part # 12561663, about $8 (got mine from texas speed)

FYI the threads for that GM part number, 12561663, are M28 x 1.25 .
