Hey guys. Have an 07 Silverado with an E38/T42, and originally came with a 6.0 V-Max. Does anyone have an idea what to do on Throttle Body choice? The stock TB is not really big, and is bumpy, and slow to respond. The LS3/LS7's are much faster as I understand and smooth for much improved airflow. If I were to get one (and it works on my Silverado) can they be Powder Coated and ported. I'm doing some custom work and I'd like to be enlightened on this matter.
-Thanks!

Yes.. Ls2/Ls3/Ls7 throttle bodies are the same, and since the bolt pattern is the same on both sides, you can flip it which way you want.. You can score one on fleabay for about $80-100. There isnt much you can do in the way of porting, they are relatively straight-through, and there isnt much material thickness around the edges. You may need an adapter to go from your truck harness to the LS2/3/7 90mm DBW TB.

In '09 the opening direction of the drive by wire throttle bodies was changed and will not work with the older ones even though the harness is the same, because the tach module signal isn't the same. They can be identified by there gold throttle blade, Chris
