FAST LSX-R 102mm Gains Or Loses Results
Alright i know many of you guys have read the threads an posts from other members an vendors about the new fast piece not doing such a great job on Ls3/L92 combo's unless they were 427ci or bigger supposedly, but has anybody on here installed this an gained anything worth talking about from it or is the intake just really not worth it for the street for the hefty amount it costs to install one? I've seen great upstairs numbers from the vic jr, but i want to be able to drive on the street daily an i don't want to sacrifice torque for a peak number... So thats why i was gonna turn my head towards the fast section an see what they could do for me. I haven't seen anything very impressive on it though so it's really holding me back from what the car could be due to the lack of air flow with the L76 intake with a ported 92mm Tb from TSP. So what do you guys think about this thing i mean will it ever produce power ever on our Ls3/L92 headed builds?

For every person that says they didn't gain anything, There is another person that says they did. Only listen to the credible ones with back to back information, Not "I dynoed it this day of this month with this cam then changed this that and the other thing, Then threw a fast on it 6 months later and I lost power or didn't make anything. Pat G did a back to back test and showed gains on a stock cube engine. Either way this topic has been beaten to death and only stirs up a heated arguments, Do a search and read everything. If it were me I would port the stock piece for a stock size engine, But only have a very reputable porter do it.

The FAST is a SOLID piece on the LS7 and puts up great HP and TQ numbers, even on stock motors.
On the LS3 it shows consistent, but nominal/tiny, gains.
Unless you're running 427 or larger cubes, or SERIOUS power through a 6.2 liter motor, I'd be very cautious about this. I had a cammed LS3 and it wasn't worth my money.

I'm curious if an Ls3 or if a FAST will be needed for my 416 build? I haven't been able to compare any set up, here or on the camaro5 and corvette forums for me to make a decision. I don't think 10~ hp o's worth 799 plus 450 fOr a TB

Sorry, i don't think this site is based on selling us products,( with the amount of post you have you must have sold a lot of stuff). i find this site very informative and give you a chance to talk to people with the same interests. take the info you get here and decide for your self what is good and what is bad.

The truth is it exsists because of the sponsers. I'm not a sponser. I'm just stating the facts as I see them. Many people buy stuff they don't need because so and so person or shop tells them too. I stated a fact that you don't need a 102 to run single digit #'s . His money would be better spent in another area.JMHOP

It would be nice if some sponsors would do some back to back Ls3 headed 416's On the dyno or track runs before we hand them over "more than one thousand dollars" you know? As I see it now I just might stick with an Ls3 intake. What do the rest of you think? Am I asking too much? I think it would be good for everyone in our shoes to know this information, before handing over that amount Of money, especially in todays economy.

For example, chassis dynos do not produce good data, so most of your "no gains" are simply a result of bad data from a dyno operator that doesnt understand how to conduct real tesing.

True that, head/cam ls3 here and Ron Mowen(vengeance) and i agree the unported fast 102(stock throttle body) only made 1-2 rhwp at best on my car...If you have the extra money i say get it, it sure does look good under the hood Ported 102 on my ls7 i would say close to 8-10 rwhp........

They cant do every request. Everyone asks their specific setup dynoed for free and given the results. R&D is not cheap, and neither is getting good data.

I would stick with the stock manifold for now. We just ran a 10.1 with the 76 manifold.

Sir, I have no problem doing that when I'm getting tuned at Straightline performance. I'd do that but there are 3 things. One is that my car should be up and running within 3 weeks. The other is i still have to put in about 1k miles so I can properly break in this motor, and in March and April the weather sucks around here lol, It even snows in April lol. Lastly, if the gains SUCK and not worth it, I'm out 799.00 for an intake and about 400.00 on a Throttle body because obviously I won't be able to use a 102 TB. With 3 kids in catholic school and one in a state college and a stay at home wife on a cops salary that won't cut it
