Default Throttle body porting--who's done it, and what HP gain did you see?

For those that have had their throttle body ported, do you have any dyno data as to the gain? SOP feel? Would you do it again given ~$100 cost?

Posts I've seen suggest small HP gain, but great throttle response. But only a sample size of 2...

Thx!

It's going to depend on your setup. The primary benefit is improved throttle response. Getting rid of the "lip" gets the plate off the seat faster so air inflow ramps up quickly. True for cabled TB or drive-by-wire.

Guys running a heavier level of mods (e.g. aggressive head/intake manifold/cam combos) could see a HP/TQ bump as well but typically not huge all else equal.

I had my dbw truck throttlebody ported but I forgot who did it. They did a good job, but there wasn't really an overall power increase but it was one of the best mods to the car, the throttle response is incredible now. You hit the gas and you're making the most of your power immediately.

Seen loads of dyno's recently while researching. On LS1 ~10rwhp is possible.

SOTP is where you see your gains. Before I ported my TB on my stock LS1 T/A, punching it, it'd just roll out smoothly.. As soon as I ported it, I'd hit the throttle and the tires would break loose instantly. RWHP, you might get 5 from the additonal area at WOT..
