I inpregnated my girlfriend of 6 years. In efforts to keep from selling the camaro and not put put in a daddymobile i have to turn the hotrod into a baby friendly sleeper.
The specs are pretty much;
6.0 lq9
Ls3 intake/heads and aftermarket cam (specs?)
Long tubes
Off road ory
And cat back?
Whats going to make this car quiet as possible and also flow? I have a CME valance and tips so i just need help with a muffler, part number will help and i will take it to the exhaust shop and have it installed.
Right now there is a knock off flowmaster in there that sounds horrible.
Muffler is not the only thing on my list. My ac needs fixed but can wait till next summer as i think we'll have us a december baby. Also my steering needs alignment which i'll have done very soon. I think a baby seat will fit just fine back there. What do you guys think?

Dynomax #17227, Magnaflow #12267, both of these are 3" in dual 2.5" out. If you need one with dual 3" out then look at the Dynomax #17536. BTW there all Stainless steel.
I'd also get the rear window tinted so it'll be a little bit cooler in the back seat and the lighting won't be too bright.

Im leaning toward the dynomax.. from that video him going from the flowmaster (which is about what mine sounds like but slightly more annoying) to the dynomax is a good bit of difference.
I might just order the catback and adapt my CME to it. The catback is abt $350(amazon) plus a $75 mailin rebate. The shops are asking 300+ to install the muffer and run pipe bc they "can't" reuse what's there other then the tips.
I'll try to post a video of what i have now.

The quietest thing you can put on is an SLP Dual Dual. You'll be amazed at how quiet it is. My buddy has a BRAND NEW one for sale right now. Has never seen the bottom of a car.

Bww3588 i agree with the cats.. been noticeing the smell more and more. While it does not bother me, it may bother a baby.
Guys your opinions are awesome.. the exhaust right now is to loud for even me. Thats not saying much because I dont like anything loud to begin with. What baby seat have you guys found that works well in the rear area? It looks like one will fit over the trans tunnel area netween the seats. I dont see a problem with that spot bc you can stap it down really good and also be away from side impact in case of an accident.

My nephew just turned a year old 1-25-12.. my bro had a 99 with just a LM1, then another 99 with LT's, ORY, and OPEN borla, then an 01 with LTs stock catback, then hacked that in favor of flowmaster 10 series, and now a 98 with LTs, ory, and lm1 and Cayden has loved em ALL!!! even has Simpson racing carseat!!! and his wife is actually the one who usually drives these hotrods! After i bought my car, he actually test fitted the car seat and stroller in the hatch to make sure it was a feasible baby hauler and it sure as the hell is!! the wife and baby both love em!!!

I have a 12,10 and 9 year old and I've had the car since new in 01 and their rooms face the garage. There was never a moment where I woke them up. They have loved cruising in that car since they were infants to toddlers to damn near teenagers. Now they like the damn fumes lol. And there is no way my wife would ever give me an ultimatum if she did she knows she'd go then! Lol

With my son a little "white noise" has been a good thing. I don't think an obnoxiously loud exhaust would be good, but having a good hum that's louder than a stock exhaust is not such a bad thing. It gives them something steady to drown out the periodic noises of talking, turn signals, radio etc.
The exhaust is the least of your worries. I think you're going to have a harder time with fitting the car seat and getting them in & out. Not saying it can't be done, but tetris-ing your kid in and out of a car gets old fast! Hopefully your girlfriend has a more baby friendly 4-door car/van/suv you can use most of the time.
