Default Starter L92 6.2 question

The starter on my setup cranks the car fine but wondering now if its possible that I may have the wrong starter. I'm about 2-3 yrs in on learning about LS engines an being a hobby mechanic.(if that's the correct term).
What I've learn is that the smaller LS engines have lower compression than the larger ones on stock setups. I purchased a starter that was originally a Tahoe starter. If the starter was designed for a 5.3, and I put it on my 6.2, would that be the reason for it not turning over as fast as I think it should? Like I said before, I have no problem starting the engine. It just seems like i have a low battery when I start it. But it never stops, it's just slow. My battery is good. All connections are good. Any ideas?

Try measuring the voltage at the starter while cranking. Ive seen stock starters used on up to 12:1 408s

Tough to say, what make and part number starter do you have? Rock Auto lists cross references between various models for a given part. Depending on manufacturer, a 6.2 starter may or may not cross reference to a 5.3 Tahoe.

I'd have to check to see. But, it seems like the bigger the engine, the stronger the the starter. I saw on another thread that a guy swapped his with an ls7 starter to correct the same problem.

Im not sure if the 5.3 one is the same as the 6.2, to be honest, but it is identical to the 4.8 and 6.0s

No, they are not the same. The 6.2 uses a larger starter. It is an inch or two longer than the 5.3 starter. I just finished my L92 conversion and did this research a while back.
