Given how terrible the mid ram looks, I though it performed well !

It's still not worth spending much money on though from a performance perspective. But it's still better than the likes of the carb intakes. They just seemed awful everywhere.

Patrick at VaraRam has stated to me and numerous people already that it will fit anywhere a factory LS6 intake will fit in terms of height or length. He should know, he designed and tested it.

I'm not usually so pessimistic but the same height of the LS6 is just so hard to believe. I REALLY hope it is true. I'll relocate my coils.....don't care. So long as I can close my hood and use the improved Racing strut tower bar. I fit an LS2 intake under the factory strut bar, slightly modified. IR bar adds a bit more clearance.

I'm happy to hear that.... I guess it's just deceptive with the two air-boxes over each valve cover that make it appear to be much bigger and taller.

VRX manifold

Update 10/16/2015

We know the internet has been burning up waiting on information on the VRX manifold.

Hear is the latest:

Several Patents have been filed covering the design and function on some parts of the VRX Manifold. We have received “some” but not all of our Patents at this time. We are currently waiting on the final Patents. We expected these some time ago but unfortunately there is no way to rush the Patent office. Our Patent Attorneys have been able to confirm that the final Patents are currently under review and we expect them to be confirmed and in place shortly.

Once we have the final Patent confirmations, VR will release Videos, independent test data etc...

Production:

We have already started on the production tooling to reduce production lag time. Some of the tooling has already been completed.

If you have any questions feel free to drop us an email at: www.vararamindustries@gmail.com

Post below dated 5-14-15 same thread on other forum. It addresses manifold clearance.

Vararam VRX update

We have a summer release date for the VRX and we are on target for that date. Anything else you hear is somebody else’s speculation.
There is more than 1 manifold currently being developed here at VR.
Unlike allot of other companies, we actually do work for GM .One of the manifolds in development is for their race program.
As we have said before, The VRX manifold in the video is a beta test mule for data collection only. It uses runner design number 42, we are currently on runner design number 83! (This is the runner we intend to use in production)
The unit in the video is a test mule to prove out design concepts to ensure that we have complete correlation between our CFD and flow bench testing. This ensures that changes in design translate into real world power gains.
The pre-production units testing will be made public soon.We have intellectual property designs that we must protect before images and video can be released just like any other OEM type of manufacturer.
Here is a list of some of the changes that have been made in development:
1.Production units will be Black in Color.
2.The runners and plenums are over 1 inch lower. Similar shape and size. (Still clears 2 inch tall valve covers) Fits under a Corvette C-5, C6 firewall overhang. (That’s the lowest Hood line there is)
3.Upper runners are now a 1 piece design for strength and reliability.
4.The plenums are smaller, but of similar shape.
5.Quick removal plenums for easy trumpet interchangeability.
6.The front T section is flush flange bolted and has been moved back over 1 inch for additional clearance.
There are a host of other changes that improve both power, efficiency and engine reliability that we cannot list or show until we receive confirmation of Intellectual property protection. We should have the required Patent protections in place here quickly.
Once this is confirmed we will show the real thing on a car, on a dyno, on a road etc…
Your patience will be worth the wait and well rewarded: VR tech

Dittos. For now it is either the factory LS3 intake manifold or hopefully the Vararam VR-X.

I think it has to be at or just under $1k, given the competition.

Vararam said dual throttle bodies would be one of many options slated for the VRX. I asked and was told this long ago but that could have changed, don't know. A single TB feeding dual plenums will provide adequate air for even the highest HP NA gasoline applications although twin TB's certainly look bad ***.

In my discussion with the designer of the VRX, he said a two TB setup would hinder performance.

Just my opinion but I think there is more of a market for the single throttle body version. If Vararam was to come out with a twin throttle body version they would have to re-design the plenums. I think I read that Edelbrock is looking into a single throttle body version of their intake. It will be interesting to see what they come up with.

I personally like the look of the dual TB better. Could be cheaper too. You can use dual 75mm and cover just about any N/A motor out there. The implementation is a little harder. DBC not so much but DBW would be difficult. I'll take a cathedral version k thx.

the down side of dual throttle bodies is the $250 for another LS2 throttle body and $500 for the dual throttle body controller....

For me, I'm looking for a single throttle body setup. I have a F1A procharger, so there is no point in splitting the charge pipe into 2 throttle bodies.
