Sure will. I had a problem with photobucket & posting pics, if I can get through that!

Photobucket screwed themselves. I moved my stuff over to slickpic. There are other options, as well.

Great thread, I've been on the fence about doing this mod for months. And mainly because I've been too busy to pull off my intake. But thanks for sharing the info!

I got the intake Friday, took 1.5 hrs to install. None of the runners are touched or hogged out, pretty much see inside the intake whats removed. I ordered the full ported one off the shelf & its brand new!

Was at the track both days car was super consistent but car ran the same as it did with the stock intake.

Looks good.

I think I'm going to send mine in to be done during the winter months.

When I fitted the RCR inlet manifold to our LS3 the tune needed to be touched up.
Picked up 1mph and approximately 0.1 seconds in the quarter.

Maybe, haven't retuned. 1st year I owned the car I upgraded from LS1 to LS6 intake on a stock motor I picked up power it was noticeable. Before that best time was 13.2 @ 108. Went 12.8 @ 110 all day after LS6 intake. This time I got a built motor, was hoping for a lil improvement oh well lol! I got the Gwatney intake, supposed to be same as RC.

Flintwrench, thank you for sharing your results.
Hopefully there will be some improvements with a revised tune as the other post mentioned.

A few yrs ago the price I got from Rick is around $350. I paid $425+$350 core. I have a 416, not convinced!

I still have my pre- and post-intake tunes on my laptop, with the previous WOT tune being dialed in on the street using a wideband. After installing the RCR and no other changes, MAF curve went up 3-20g/s above 6kHz, and VE went up 3-7% at 100kPa above 2000RPM. I don't drag race so I can't say how that correlates to a time slip.

Next step is to take it a step further and get all the good that is still there. Time consuming but it did pick up a few % over the rods alone. TQ is impressive..

I have a Super Vic on the car now as it outflows all the plastic intakes we tested. CID would be the best gain but for the money a SV is a good choice too.

What did the Super Vic flow compared to say a Fast LSXR?

Just curious.

BTW - am in process of setting up some additional cathedral intake testing for my other flow testing thread.

Default Rod mod

What diameter and type of rods are used for the rod mod in the GM LS3 intake?

The Radius Rods were 1/2 inch diameter in the LS3 intake I tested, if I recall correctly.

Wow. It looked more like 5/16 or 3/8 from the photos on the web.
Thanks, I'm going order some aluminum bar stock and make some.

I tried to get a hold of Rick Crawford and didn't get a response so....I started the rod mod today. I hole sawed the bottom and air sawed the top. Installed brass freeze plugs. Waiting for rods and epoxy to arrive. ]http://
