Your typing skills need help and tech has word correction/ spell checker ......... I just don't get it.

You mean 1 and 5/8 and 1 and 7/8 inch diameter exhaust. Use the 1 and 7/8ths as if upgrades are done you'll want a larger diameter exhaust pipe.

LG has made 1 3/4 & 1 7/8 round port headers for the LS7 for a long time. It’s not the fad now but it works.

Easy there, no need to be a dick, English just obviously isn’t his first language.

Judging by his user name, and the phrasing of his post, English IS his first language, but without a full command of it.

The 1 3/4 are good for a stock LS7 engine when you get to a little more power the 1 7/8 come into play. Fitment wise the LS7 port really likes the 1 7/8 and you have some leeway. The 1 3/4 round port is tight and the header needs to be dead on or the tube will actually block the port a tiny bit (if this is a true round 1 3/4 tube). I think the LS7 port is like 1.65 or 1.68 inches wide (1 3/4 OD tube is like 1.65 ID). Some of the round tube headers that are 1 3/4 are sized up (for about a 1/4 inch) a little before going to 1 3/4 tube as they exit the head to account for this.

Personally I see no reason to even bother with a 1-3/4 on almost any LS as they've been shown to give up max power to a 1-7/8 on even a bolt on 346, without sacrificing anything down low. With the better flow of an LS7 head plus 99% of the time the application used being over 400cid, just go with the larger primary, if not even up to 2" assuming you can fit it.

I have 1-7/8" Kooks on my LS7 that were on my stock LS2 heads to begin with. They seem to work just fine and seal up with stock GM stainless gaskets.
