Default Rear LS3 intake vacuum connections

When I had my original LS3 installed in 2010, the A/C didn't work for a couple of days after I drove the car home. The guy doing the work seemed to fix the issue by T-ing off the brake booster line and connecting a tiny ID tube to the T, then that tube connected to something behind the manifold. Fast forward to today and I have a new motor in the car and that tiny tube was laying loose, not connected behind the manifold, and my A/C doesn't work again even though it was charged. I'm having difficulty locating clean photos of the back of the manifold, and I can't seem to find it with the braille method. Any idea what I'm looking for? Ironically, the brakes did seem to be weaker after I brought the car home, guess that's due to a mild vacuum leak.

I found the photos I'm looking for here. Now I just have to find the damn hole. That would explain why I've been going in circles trying to tune fuel, and my brakes being soft

Whistler didn't use the vacuum port on the back of the intake as I had assumed he did when he built my prior engine. The smoke test revealed a few leaks that are all fixed now. AC works, and I can stop chasing my tail on fueling.

We found one vacuum line originating near the pcm that ended behind the passenger headlight. Any idea on the purpose? We capped it not knowing the purpose.

Can you elaborate? Is it supposed to connect to something near the front bumper?

I believe it works similar to a brake booster but for your air vent doors. Stores vacuum so u can control them

I can't find anything in the '98 factory parts manual that shows where this unconnected vacuum tube (that goes over the passenger side shock tower and the open end was sort of behind the passenger headlamp) should attach. All I'm finding is the AIR system that was on the driver side.

Is this what I'm looking for?

Looks like this and it's mounted right below the frame rail behind the passenger headlight. Not sure how much more I can elaborate.

There is a vacuum line that comes out of the harness by the back of the intake. There is a second one on the passenger side. I have a 2000.

OK, we see the vacuum tank, but we can feel two nipples and there's nothing connected to either at the moment. The photo shows the nipples are different size, so I presume the vacuum line goes on the smaller nipple. What connects to the other nipple?

I finally found the vacuum tank diagram in the service manual, pages 1-112 through 1-113. It says when replacing the tank, connect the vacuum hose to the bottom nipple, nothing about the other nipple. Wouldn't leaving that second nipple unconnected cause a vacuum leak?

Doesn't it connect to the A/C system vacuum line?

A friend found this, looks like the other nipple needs to be capped.

If I'm interpreting the link in post 16 correctly, so long as your check valve is working, the second nipple doesn't need to be capped, but capping it may mask a damaged check valve?

I was bored and got under the car today. When trying to route the loose vacuum line from under the headlamp to the tank nipple, it busted off at the harness; there wasn't much free play in the length, I wonder if it had previously broken off. While I was doing that, I had the new wideband re-calibrating again in free air, and the battery was fully charged but it was in the shade and the headlamps were on. I got away with 20 minutes yesterday, and I thought it might still be miscalibrated so I tried 45 minutes today. Nope, dead battery. Took it out to charge it, found that my battery charger had **** the bed while in storage, so I walked down the street to Walmart to pick up a new charger. The day hasn't been very productive thus far.
