kind of thought so... It is at idle and it's 95 out. It does drop to 130 at cruise.

Where is your IAT sensor and where is your intake pulling air from? Assume your IAT sensor reads same as ambient with key before a cold start?

Maybe post a picture of your engine bay so we can see where things are

Lol, you have the air filter drawing air from the radiator. Try making a tube intake and drawing air from outside the engine bay. I picked up 2-3mph in the 1/4 doing this on one of my cars....It was trapping 119-120 and did the intake and it trapped 122.xx

My IAT’s will be 120-130 on a really hot summer day while sitting for long periods (10 minutes) at idle. They drop quickly to ambient when moving and stay there. I’ve built a cold air setup that draws air from inside the fender, not under hood air. I cut a scoop in my inner fender, on the flat part of it behind the headlights. It’s a 4” hole that I put a scoop to shield the hole from front tire splashing water up into the hole...scoop faces the front bumper. Yeah, it’s fabrication, but it didn’t take much effort honestly. I have under $200 in the entire cold air setup, using real 4” carbon fiber tube and elbow. Tube goes through a custom close-out panel that’s held in place with fasteners. Air filter is behind the close-out panel...which is insulated from under hood heat...and is a Mast Motorsports filter that holds my IAT sensor. Please excuse the custom hood prop...it was temporary.

I did similar Scott, carbon fiber stays cooler than aluminum, thats for sure. Im also drawing cooler air in from under fender(s).

Well I have a carburator and this is what I did many years ago (like 1990) after putting a thermometer next to the carb and realizing the delta from outside air vs under hood air (it was like 70 degrees now its like 10-20 degrees). Its a 16 x 4 element with a sealed style box under the hood. What the guys did above should work well for you. If I go fuel injection I will run a carb style one and still use the cowl induction here. Also notice the grill to core support seal which if you are running the newer style systems you can run your air box up front and have the seal to prevent air sneaking over your core support. I have a 40 pound fiberglass hood and it use to jiggle on highway now no more jiggle as the air does not go over core support any more. I think these are made by under cover engineering or something like that.

Yes, common problem. A true CAI is worth the weight in gold.
