Default New Jegs Shaft Rockers

Just stumbled across these while looking at other stuff. Lots of questions, first being who actually makes these? Maybe I missed it but I don’t see assembled or unassembled? The price is definitely attractive. Thoughts?

I do see the stuff won’t ship until June of 2026 so that’s quite the wait.

The rockers look like the same ones you can get from BTR. The good part is that they shaft is in 4 pieces per head. Pairing the valves and uses bronze bushings.

Similar to BTR but different. Yes it’s a shaft rocker kit. Trying to see if it’s actually any good or not.

It does look good ,but look at it more closely. It is not a one piece shaft Each intake and exhaust are on there own shaft. Similar to this CHE kit but way cheaper and includes the rockers.
I’m sticking with my Yella Terra rockers.

Sadly, if its Jegs house brand, there is a 99.9% of it being China made

Definitely agree. Does that mean it’s for sure junk? Not sure those are automatically linked. I called Jegs yesterday and asked about them. Guy said they have had the ls3 pieces for a while and sold a ton of them. He’s not aware of or heard of any issues.

Said the ls1/2/6 is new but same deal. They sold a ton of them too hence the large back order on delivery dates.

could he be full of BS? Absolutely but I’ve actually had good luck with honest tech guys. I called strange engineering a few months ago and he said their stock shock valving I was looking at is junk. So I have had honest tech guys.

to be clear I’m not talking about putting this on a 10,000 rpm 3000 hp motor. I would definitely just go BTR for that. But this is only about $10 more than the BTR upgraded stock style independent trunions. I’m thinking about grabbing these just to see if they’re legit and putting them on my super basic truck Norris cam’d 2500hd truck. Test bed if you will.

there’s basically no chance its U.S.A. made for that price. China. But look at all the China turbos and other parts out there people use without issue. Does that just mean it won’t be as nice as the BTR kit but still function ok in a very basic application or does that mean it will literally fall apart and hurt the motor. That’s the question. Kegs says they’ve sold a ton of them and aren’t aware of any issues.

A lot of this depends on the deal made with the Chinese.
They'll do any level of quality desired for prices still lower than anything made here

If a cheaper valve train upgrade is what you are looking for. Going full roller is way better.
These speed master copies would perform better. And cost less. Cathedral or rectangle. 1.7 or 1.8

Jegs also has a Speedmaster rail set up on their website.

I'll say this and I'm not the biggest BTR fan, but I will say he def tries to make all his products here. If it's like $20-50 more for American vs China unknown, what is that worth? I'm certainly cheap when building a project, but I spend when it's worth it and American as much as absolutely possible. FYI, I have plenty of stories of PBM and Speedmaster roller rockers coming apart, it's a total waste if $$$. Like it's been said a million times, just slap some trunnions in the stock rockers and go. Roller becomes worth it when you are running bronze guides or going for lots of lift. Short of that, it's CHE, Manton or BTR shafts if you want to do it once.

I did the Texas Speed ones on my LS7, they are individual rockers but I have the Brodix BR7 heads which have a very robust pedestal compared to OEM (kind of a blob of aluminum with a notch cut out). Good wear pattern did not have to change my pushrods. My spring pressure is not too bad like 150# and 450# at .660 lift.

I ended up just going with the tried and true BTR TK002 trunion kit with their rockers and assembled by them. I don't turn enough RPM to justify a shaft kit and saving the money helps too.

I'm having an engine built at BES Racing Engines. They told me they would use any (good quality) rockers I wanted but they recommended the BTR's and said that is what they use unless it is for high/sustained revs.
