Default L92 carb intake on a Daily Driver?

just curious on some opinions on using the L92 carb intake with a 90eblow and 90mm TB on a daily driven truck, would there be heat soak problems?

I believe he is talking about the Fuel Injected version of the intake which GM sells with the injector bosses pre drilled into the intake, so you don't need to take it to a machine shop or anything. I'm very interested in a set up like this for my LS1.

Here it is for the LS1:

http://www.sdparts.com/product/88958...uretorEFI.aspx

I know they make one for the LS7 as well, but I didn't see it on the website.

there will always be heat soak with any alloy intake.
i have had alloy intakes on ls1 cars before, with no power loss of any kind
and thats under a slung fbody cowl and hood which im sure don't circulate
as much air as large engine pu truck.
also the l92 intake is "air gap" design if u will, so that should keep cooler
in theory, also polishing helps it from absorbing some heat

I've been running one on my DD 370 truck. Don't understand why you think there might be heat soak issues though really. Intake manifolds have been made from aluminum for many years before they started making them from plastic.

I have no issues. There is a big jump in power around 4k but that seems to be consistant with the dynos i've seen so far with the L92 heads and even the L76 intake. The large volume ports are the cause if it is my guess. I have good low end tq though.

Yes, the GMPP L92 EFI manifold is available, I just ordered mine a few weeks ago. I show that GM has stock on it right now.
It is exactly as pictured by ls1ow, I attached a pic of mine as well.
Good luck with the build.
