Default Best Bang For the Buck Heads

Ok ,Let me 1st state that I am not 100% sure this is in the Right forum,So if its not it may need to get moved ,I am on the Lookout For a Set of heads that wont Break My Bank Account,So That leaves the Afr & The ET performace heads out,What I Have is a Ls2 402 On a Novi2k Boosted motor that will See 14 Lbs of Boost ,& I am wondering Which of these 2 Sets of heads Would u Guys Reccommend Running & Why ?

The PRC LS3 cylinder This head Can be had for 1,079.00 ,These heads Flow Real Nice : 600 Intake/ 349 Exhaust/ 224 ;2.165 intk Valve /1.59 Exhaust Valve
,I didnt really wanna Get Caught up in Flow #S ,But what else should i consider Besides looking @ Flow #s ? Both sets of heads were Flowed on a 4.125 Bore .I Am Running a 4.0 Bore ,Same With the Patriot Lq9 Head, If u look @ These 2 Sets of heads, U can see that the Tsp -Prc Head Outflows the Patriot Heads & The PRC Head is also available with Hollow Valve stems,Looks Like the Prc Maybe a Better Choice for my Fi Application,I will Run A 72cc ,AnyBody else Running these Heads On Your Lsx Based Motor ? The Patriot Lq9 Flow #s
320 cfm
236 cfm
The Patriot Lq9 Heads Run a 2.08 Intk /1.60 Exh Valve

Hey...the best set of performance oriented heads are from CHEVROLET! They are the L92 heads for a truck. The head is based on a LS7 design with outstanding flow characteristics that cost about $180 each (bare) and less than $500, complete in stock form. I am running these on a 6.0L, stroked to 412cid and will be pushing air through them via twin T-62's. The heads have a huge 2.16" int. valve diameter and a 1.59" exh. valve diameter. Off the top of my head I believe the intake flows around 330 cfm @.600" lift. These are by far the BEST for the price! I suggest getting a bare set and building them to suit your needs. Livernois Motorsports sells them complete and CNC ported for around $2000. Simply put...HIGH PERFORMANCE FOR CHEAP!

L92s, no doubt. On a FI application, the intake being a restriction isn't an issue.

On a side note, proper punctuation is your friend.

The roller rockers are unique for the L92 head. You will NOT be able to use LS1 rockers with L92 heads. GM makes a set for relatively cheap. I have part#'s if you need them.

SDPC has ported L92 heads assembled with good springs for about $1200 a pair. That is the best bang for the buck, put on the L76 until the Starr intake comes out.

Okay...you need all the listed p/n below for the L92 heads from GM if you are going to use the GM rockers setup.

exhaust rockers:10214664
intake rocker:12569167
rocker arm support:12600936
bolts/screws:12560961

The exhaust rockers MIGHT be the same as stock LS1 rockers...not sure so check, you might save some $$.

Scoggin-Dickey has them in BARE form for $179.99. Yup, you are reading this right...or you can buy them assembled for less than $500 per head! It was such a good deal, I purchased 3 sets (bare) for flow testing and combination research.

This head does have a specific intake manifold. GM p/n 12590123, for L76/L92 head engine, fully assembled, with injectors, fuel rail, 90mm ETC throttle body and gaskets. Not too many aftermarket intakes (for a reasonable price) for this head yet. Hopefully a manufacturer will wake up and see the potential for this need.
