Check this out https://ls1tech.com/forums/showthrea...ht=harness+l92

$780 shipped for harness and computer no pedal

Would this factory ecu need to have a vin installed for HP tuners?

Can drive by wire be removed / programmed out?

Your forgetting the MAF, and 2 O2 sensors that are included with the GM Performance kit. On top of that, you will still have to mod the OEM harness to make it work in your Camaro.

I just ordered the LS7 harness kit from Scoggin Dickey.

Bump.

Is it confirmed that these have the wiring for a T56?

Is there (or are there plans for) an L92 (VVT) harness?

I would also like to know why my OBDII scanner did not work. I have a ScanGauge, which is a simple scanner/code reader, and it was not able to communicate with the ECU. My L92/L76 intake with the LS7 cam did fire up immediately using the LS7 harness.

OK guys sorry for the delay. I got some time this weekend and worked on the LS3. I was not able to download the file from the PCM. The HP Tuners gave me an message about the VIN being incorrect.

I did a search on the HP Tuners forum and someone had got the same results when they tried the LS7 Harness. I posted my info and what I had heard from some of my contacts at GMPP. Bill at HP Tuners informed me that at this point in time we cannot tune these PCM's

The OS and the VIN are specific for the intended use on crate engines in pre emission vehicles. There may be a fix in the future but there isn't a time frame for this to get done.

Harness and controller does a very nice job if you want to install an LS3 crate engine in an older chassis.

Another user has been able to take the ECUs to a tuner shop, use a tech II to assign a VIN from a 2006 CTSV, and tune it with HP Tuners.

And that is what Bill said I "might" be able to do. I wanted to try before I posted that it worked. Were they able to read the existing file?

Thanks for heads up!

I think everything worked just like it would on a "normal" ECU. Here is the link to the thread:

Post #59. It would be great to get a confirmation from your people, Robin.

Default GMPP harness

Was wandering if there were any updates on this LS Engine Control Kit From GMPP. Came across an 07 LS7 longblock awhile back for $3000. The block has a few problems, hopefully they can be fixed. Plan to put the motor in a 62 bubbletop if/when I find one.

Default 24x reluctor Possible?

This looks like a nice option for those with a 58x reluctor Motor..

Does anyone know what my options are since I have a 05 GTO LS2 motor with a 24x reluctor?

Looks like a pain to swap the reluctor out and I would like to hear some suggestions and costs related to the path chosen...if anyone can speak from experience I would appreciate it.

I know junk yard is one option but I found its not easy to find the harness and other peripherials without havng to buy the motor with it..

and considering Im planing on keeping the ETC function for cruise functionalit...manual throttle control is not an option.

Any input would be appreciated..

Thanks,

Matt

Default May have found the answer

After doing more research it looks like the path of least resistance is to go with a package from Howell Engine developments..

Since I dont have a tool nor experience to remove \ swap the reluctor wheel coupled with the cost and labor of the cam sensor \ timing chain- cover swap needed... it didnt make sense to me.

Grand total for everything... Harness, ECU, Tach module, Pedal..including mass air flow and 02 sensors is 1675.00 not cheap but best I found for the scenario I have ( 24x reluctor LS2 ) since I cant seem to locate one at a junk yard..

Unless someone else has any better ideas.. This will be the route I will take..

Yes that was me. We had to load a VIN from a '06 CTS-V with GM Tech II tool and then we were in business. We used HP Tuners after that to tune it. I was worried that some of the connections in the bulkhead connector would not work after all this, but all of the ones I'm using are still working. The VSS output somehow changed because my speedo was reaing way high after we flashed the ECM over to the new files and I had to recalibrate it. Other than that is was pretty much trouble free.

I am interested if this will plug directly to a T56 as well.

Will any LSx ignition coils work with this? Or will you have to use the gen4 coils?

Yes, the harness has a plug for the VSS in the tranny and I didn't know there was a difference in coils? Mine are from a C5 I believe and they worked???
