Does anyone know the difference between the 380hp L92 in a Denali and a 403hp L92 in a Escalade?

Cam? Compression? Tune?

Is there anyway to tell which one your looking at if its out of the vehicle already?

from driving both, working for gm, working on them both, and seeing both not out of the car but in my own personal opinion its called underrating, like the ls1's from fbodies to corvettes. see what im getting to?

yep, the difference is one is spelled "G-M-C" and the other is spelled "C-A-D-D-Y".

I've read a couple of posts on different forums that seem to pretty much confirm that they're both the exact same engine. Looks like GM's been engaging in a bit of "marketspeak", since the Denali's 380 hp comes in at 5500 rpm, and the Caddy's 403 hp is at 5700...

They are serviced by the same GM Goodwrench engine and have the same cam, pistons and heads. Just derated the GMC so the Caddy would show biggger numbers.
