Default mass air question....85mm?

i have a 2002 corvette coupe. is the stock mass air 85 or 90mm? also, I am doing a 416 L92 set up. will the stock maf be ok to use? or do I need bigger due to larger injectors?

If it is an LS1 u have 75mm. It has nothing to do with injectors. If the MAF is the largest restiction in your intake you need a bigger one. If you get a new MAF u will need a tune

A stock MAF is tiny for a 416 motor. I just did a L92 427 and the stock MAF is so small compaired to the bigger TB. Its got to be a big restriction.

I have the 85mm ZO6 maf on the L92/L76 setup on a 418. So far it seems fine, but at some point I'm going to make the switch to SD once I get everything dialed in, so the MAF will no longer be there as a restriction.

What we need to do is get the LS3 LS7 LS9, and others MAF, connector and a bracket that the GM Race Shop puts in the LS3 harness kit and run that setup.
MAF and bracket will go into any CAI you want. The MAF and connector could be easily pulled at a salvage yard. The bracket is a cast aluminum piece that the MAF slides into and you bolt it to the intake tube, the one side is radiussed to match up to a CAI tube.

MAF - 15865791 - List price = $92.30
MAF bracket - 19166574 - List price = $6.43
Connector if needed - 15306113 - List price = $43.38

The connector is a 5 pin and is common on a lot of different vehicles. A Stock LS3 or LS7 MAF table would be a good start. I have the parts but I am a rookie tuner so I am trying to tune mine with the ZO6 MAF first and later I may put in the LS3 MAF to see if there is a difference.

Even if you got stuck paying list (hope nobody has too) it would be $142.11 +tax for this setup. You should be able to get it for about $110-$115 if the dealer is nice.

Thanks for the picture. I think that I will pick up one of the brackets just in case I need one.

"If it is an LS1 u have 75mm." as posted by YellowToy/A is not a true statement. All 2001 and up Corvettes have the 85mm MAF which will work fine for what you are doing.

With that said, you could go up to the newer MAF style described here, but again you should be good with the 85mm for now.

Hope this helps.

The airflow in the tube is very important for proper readings.
