Default Ls2/l92 help!

I'm doing a L92 swap on a LS2. I have heard that bigger cams require cutting reliefs in the pistons to clear the valves. My cam is a 240/244 605/596 113+2 LSA. If i use a OEM thickness on the head gasket and don't mill the heads will the valves clear? Also, if they will clear, how much thinner can I go on head gaskets or how much can I mill the heads because I would really like a little compression bump.

its when you put clay on the piston and bolt the heads down and valvetrain and turn the motor over it will mash the clay down, if it stops you know it wont work if it turns all the way over tear it down and look at how thin the clay is, i believe thats what he meant by it, but im pretty sure someone could tell you without having to do all that work

Most likely will not clear. On top of that, even if it does, with the decreased compression and that cam it will be a dog.

thanks for the info. So this definately will NOT clear the valves? So is my only option to get a smaller cam because I'm pretty set on L92 heads?

well.. are you just doing the heads or are you dropping an l92 shortblock in the car too, because those pistons are flycut from gm.. if so you may be ok, but it sounds to me like your just putting the heads on your ls2, are you against having your pistons cut?

A smaller cam is gonna work better than that one anyways.

The reason your Cam will be a dog is because it has way too much Duration for a 6.0l..the one I'm running in my 402 is a 243/247, .621/.612, 114+3.

I think you would see better results with a low to mid 230's duration Cam, with slightly smaller lift..
