TTT Still deciding, and afraid of making the wrong decision, especially after reading some posts about low RPM surging.

Dude, low rpm surging is largely avoidable with proper tuning. Unless you go with an insane duration.

On the LS3. people have reported some bucking and low RPM surging even on smaller cams such as a 226/234 or 224/232. The new card style MAF is quite tricky to tune. I want a cam with no compromises that will increase my power across the entire curve and have not drivability issues, while still not sacrifice gas mileage by much at all.
