The LSA is significantly cheaper than the LS9, and considering it's supercharged, a better value than the LS7

LSa Crate engine p/n 19211708 lists for $20,000.00. I am selling that for $15,000.00. There is no stock available on that engine right now.

so I guess there is no point in the part #'s for the LSa blower/charge air cooler cover and such? I was just seeing the cost for the TVS1900 GM supercharger?
thanks again.

Can anyone "definitively" confirm where the LSA and LS9 engines are being assembled? I know the LS7 is assembled at GM's Performance Build Center. It says on GM's web page (see below) that the (marine) LSA is assembled in Mexico which concerns me. The Mexican assembly plants are notorious for poor "Quality Control" and worse yet if it's a "third party" assembly plant.

http://www.gm.com/experience/technol...LSA_Marine.pdf

Please note that this is not meant to be an insult in any way to the good people of Mexico.

You do realize LSA does not always equal lope right. Also do you really think GM would make a cam that lopes on a supercharged engine? Or that lopes in general for that reason? The only one that really comes close is the C5Z.

but none of those are that are they? im betting a rather wide LSA. but the duration is not large by any means, its small for that style of engine, either force fed or large CI.

GM won't be selling them as short blocks for a while i would assume. Only full crate motors, but I don't know for sure.

Available, but with special approval from GM, and not even 3k less than the compete engine. It's not worth buying just the shortblock.

LSA/LS9 = square port heads so NO to the LS1/6, it will not work unless somehow you lay your hands on the magical GM square port small bore heads.

No, it won't fit and it won't work on LS1 style heads. It's also going to be more expensive than a tried and true aftermarket system.

so ifgm is selling short block for less then 3K of complete motor. then why would anyone buy this.

if you want a short block ls9 just build one

ls3 block 1500
ls9 crank 750
ls9 rods 4K
ls9 pistons 600.

my prices might be a little high or low. but i know the crank is cheap for GM price. i would just pt like compstar($600) or oliver billet($1100) rods and call it a day.

or and have katach do the oil squirters. they told me 160 for machine work. and they are like 50 dollars a squirter.

maybe because after you do all of that, you still have to buy the heads? and bearings? and plugs? and extra machine work? and gaskets? and it will have ZERO wnty? AND you will have to wait in line for all of these things to be available separate? looks like your wheelin dealing bargain isnt such a bargain is it

Hey g. The guy asked about a short block. Not a long block. Read. And dicky said the short block is 3k under the price of the crate motor
And if he only wants short block. I bet it is chase he wants forged bottom end

So don't be a smart ***. I knew there was no heads. But hell add heads your at like 1500. And all the light **** covers, bolts, bearings, whatever else your around 1k

And the warrenty is only good if you don't touch the motor.

maybe you should try a little research first. I wasnt being a dick. I was being honest. I am sorry my honestly offends you. That is not a "shortblock" by regular terms, its a short block in the fact that you dont get the supercharger. GM isnt so big on the short blocks lately. So, lets factor in all that stuff plus alot more. Like you said all the oil pan and "****". Then good luck finding the heads for $1500.

You def need to learn not to open your mouth and start being the gambler. Because this round, you lost
