Default LS7 heads on a 408

can ls7 heads fit on a .30 over bore iron block?

tried to search but no luck

Nope. Another guy just asked about putting them on an LS2 and I gave him some misinformation accidentally, but no. Not enough bore.

You need an LS7 or an LSX or even a Warhawk. You could sleeve a stock one, but it costs almost as much as buying an LSX. Bore has to be 4.100+

you can with a 0.30" overbore, but you probably meant 0.030"

U know, the LS7 ETP head uses 2.200 intakes (stock is 2.100) and they fit the 4.100 bore w/ 2.200........so......I am thinking 6.2 block .005 or .010 over and it would work. I got some stock heads (LS7 right here w/ no springs) but no 6.2L block to check them with.

It is not the intake valve that is the problwm with the stock heads, it is the exhaust valve..

BTW stock factory ls7 intake valves are 2.20"

even if they would fit,they wouldnt work very well,the small bore would have the valves shrouded pretty bad.Cary has a ls7 head for a 4'' bore,i think they have a 2.08 intake valve
