Default Morel link bar lifter issue

I bought a set of used link bar lifters from the site about 2 months ago. Just got around to put in and they won't go in easily. Is there a trick or is there a possibly that they were advertised wrong. They were in the ls section. Tried everthing from lubing the bores and then dry. I did force 1 set and it appers that the link bar is not long enough. Almost appears that the lifter turns alittle like the link is to short. Just wondering if anybody else had this issue. Thanks Louis

Post a pic. If the base circle of your cam is too small, then you will have interference issues with the link-bar and the block.

I cant even get the lifters down far enough to touch the cam. I can get started for about 2mm and they bind horribly. The block is new. I might buy a new set and try them. If they don't work then I dont know. I guess i can go back to an ls7 lifter. The single lifters fit fine. Thanks

They probably sent you the wrong lifters.

There maybe small burrs where the axle goes through the lifter and the roller. Use some fin grit sand paper like 250+ or higher and deburr that area and they will probably go in just fine. Someone maybe have already burred them up as the gally in many blocks have burrs as well. All part of real engine building.

When you say a single lifter will go in, do you mean the Morels? In other words, it is only when you try and insert a pair there is a problem?

You need to install them both at the same time so they don't bind up when putting them in the bores. All link bar lifters can hang up if you let one go down too far relative to the other initially. I have used maybe 200 sets of the link bar Morels without an issue.

Thats what I was doing when I had the issue. The link bar wasn't long enought to allow both lifters to go in.

I have a single morel sitting around that I tried and worked fine, but when I try the pair it is a no go. If I put one of the pair in it goes in fine but when you try both at the same time no shot. I will buy a new set tomorrow and try a new set. Thanks

WTF! Yeah never seen that but I see what you mean now so I guess they misboxed them? Probably normal Small Block Chevy models which are tighter lifter spacing. The LS1 units are the same as a Ford small blockk now.

Yeah sorry about that but if they said they worked that really doesn't make sense.

Mine dropped right in. Make sure you have the bar facing the intake but that shouldn't make any difference test fitting.
