Default L92 Head?

How many of you are running L92 heads vs a set of LS3 heads? I know they are the same my main question is about the valves in the LS3's being lighter. Anyone with L92's had any valve float problems at high rpm's?

define hi rpms
valve float will occur in any engine that is not equipped with correct parts.
if take into account all the variables when selecting springs and valve train should have no float.

Not here. I have ported l92's w/stock valves w/comp 921 springs. My 402ci peaked at 6,400rpm's and the rev is at 7,100. No issues at all.

No more than 7500 i'm sure. I know how valve float occurs, I was just curious if anyone had thought or had any experiences with a set of truck heads vs LS3 heads.

No experience given we run mostly L92 stocks and are careful, but I imagine that GM would not have gone to hollow stem intakes unless their engineering standards dictated it to reach their power/rpm objectives and/or marketing thought it would be a good selling point. .

Stock, lifters, pushrods, rockers, valves. No port work.

I am not sure exactly on springs, Ill have to ask my builder but they are enough for a 24x 25x @.50 625 625 hyd cam.

I am running the freaking sweetest intake available for L92's IMO though to help it out.
Just wait till I get a set of heads on this beast.

Is it a whole lot better than the GMPP EFI single plane intake?

There is not a graph large enough to measure how much better this intake is than the GMPP or the Edelbrock.

The only reasons I don't have one on my cathedral heads is I can't afford it, and Cary doesn't make one that will fit under my flat hood, i.e. the same height as my Victor Jr.

I'm assuming the price reflects that as well?

I assume you mean the price reflects the flow and power potential. Yes it does. It is meant to be a race piece to bridge the gap between the mass produced intakes from GMPP and Edelbrock and a custom sheet metal intake. Think @$1200(NOPE---SEE POST BELOW) complete with CNC work. Check with Cary for specifics.
