Default Which cam for LS2/L92 heads

I have an LS2 out of a 2005 SSR with stock L92 heads. Trying to decide on which cam to get. The engine is going in a 69 Camaro, 4L65E auto with a 3600 stall and 3.55 gears. I will be using the car mainly for drag racing but will be driving to and from the track so it needs to be decent on the street.
The two cams I am looking at are:
229 236 with .624 .615 lift 112 LSA or
231 243 with .617 .624 lift 115+3 LSA
Which would fit my needs best? Also I have been told I should not need any flycutting with these.

The bottom cam, but with a tighter LSA, 111-112! Flycutting shouldn't be necessary, unless heads have been milled.

From what I have seen the l92/ls3 head likes a 114 Lsa, reguardless of specs of how far the split is.

I reccomend you look at this thread

a HUGE plus one on that cam.

specs
230 intake on a xfi lobe 612 lift
234 exhaust on a xer lobe 598 lift
114 lsa with 2 degrees advance so 114+2

FTI cam here. The small extra cost is well worth it. The 92's do'nt need a lot of lift, and the intake to exhaust bias(spread) is not as great as most people believe.

We've done a lot of engine dyno testing with TSP camshafts in LS3 head applications. You can easily make 500rwhp in a LS2 with a good cathedral head or a ported L92 head.

Shoot us a call & we can help you reach your goals.
