Default L92 non dod lifters

What is the story on these lifters.

I have a nice clean set. I have not really found any info. Are they comparable to a ls7 or what.

Thanks
Tim

I hear you on $$ vacation I have 5 weeks. 3 are used up with DW PT and a wedding. Wife wants a week also. Like to drive my car to super bowl. Also like to do the LSX deal at milan.

Just have to see how things go. The parts are comming in and my taxes are double what I thought.

Have GM moved away from their regular lifters for regular production engines?

Robin where did you source the info on the L92 lifters being the same as the LS7 lifters? I only ask as there seems to be some confusion over at performance trucks that the L92 lifters are not only different, but inferior which Im doubtful of and hoping you can clarify? Thanks

Good question. Have not seen an LS7 lifter in any 6L production engine whether DOD or non DOD. Lower cost lifters only without top end oil feed check valve. Only constant flow to top end.

Odd when i search out the PN's for stock L92 lifters I come up with this;

17122490 which is the LS7 lifter also

So how does this mean they are different?

I've found numerous threads stating that they are the same lifter used in the LS3/L92 non DOD applications.

Heres a couple

Unless someone else can clearly prove that these are different pieces then as far as Im concerned this case is closed.

L92/LS7 lifters are the same

so long as the L92 is non DOD that is but anyone confusing those lifters with regular lifters shouldnt be wrenching anyways as they look radically different from one another.
