LSX-dr thread
I have heard that they have cast and machined heads over the past several months. Not official but I was told that they have made a couple of small changes in the molds and the process to tweak the final version.
I keep hearing any day now but I have heard that for several months.
Soon very soon.....

Most top of the line inline heads will flow about 400 to 430+ CFM on the intake. They will be able to utilize a the 1.625" valve springs and will flow well past 1" of valve lift.
The canted valve heads will flow 430 and up depending on the port design. With the tilted or canted valves it is easier to get a better line of sight into the cylinder without the limitations found in a in line head. Also the valve location is more favorable to a piston that doesn't require deep valve reliefs at the edge of the piston over the ring land.
The Canted valve heads are VERY expensive and requied a lot of custom components such as valve train, intake manifold and custom headers. THe top of the line in line heads will require the same.
I have not seen any pricing on the LSX-R or the GMPP LSX DR heads.
The class that I run requires inline heads. I would have liked to try a set of the Edelbrock heads on an NA engine but that deal never came through. There are some people with builds in process so we should see some results in the next several months.
I remain cautiously optimistic that GMPP will get the DR heads on the market soon.
