Default lq9 in my firehawk, easiest way to make power

as of right now i have an lq9 that is stock, im thinkin cam, ls6 intake manifold, headers, and tune. stock gears, 4l60e with a 3600 stall. a few other things to go along with it like upgraded valvetrain and maybe moroso oil pan, but i was wondering if there were any better ways to make power besides nitrous, turbos, superchargers, or even new heads, this is gonna be my daily and im looking for about 450 to 475 rwhp. any help would be appreciated. thanks

maggie or procharger with heads, cam, and a small shot should get you there

there's no way your gonna make 450-475 with an LQ9 with just a cam, LS6 manifold, headers and a tune...

Your gonna have to get heads, and a better intake to even get you close that that goal. It's possible, just not with what your listing.

Through an auto and stock heads with your mods suggested and a very good cam ( get a custom grind its only 25 bucks more ) You might eek out around 425 whp if your lucky. If you want to step up to bigger numbers then a head swap or power adder is nec.

If you go for heads the WCCH L92 heads work well and match a cam up with them, add a ported LS3 intake and you should hit 475 without too much trouble. Maybe 500 with a FAST 102mm

so does the ls3 intake make more power than the ls6? and i did find some afr 205's that i wanted, but i imagine the l92 heads arent quite as expensive. thanks and ill keep looking, was just wondering if 450 was a plausable goal with what i was going for. more feedback would be great.

and also would it be better to just buy the cam, heads, and intake in a package?

Substantially more. Its a 90mm tb that has ports way bigger than an LS6 which is older cathedral port technology.

You need to do some research I think you'll end up going the L92 head route all the way once you realize how much power can be had. Just be careful to match the components carefully and even more careful when selecting the cam the L92 heads are a different animal than the older cathedral port heads are and require different grinds to get the most out of them.

As for a package yes that would probably be easiest. Definitely get a custom grind cam to match its not a lot more coin and you'll end up with a set up that works as you want it to. Once you pick your heads, intake, exhaust size etc then a good grinder can spec out a cam to make the best out of it. PatrickG specs cams here on LS1tech

thanks man, i think now im definitely gonna go with the l92 setup, i dont really have the money to port them so they will be stock with upgraded valvetrain for a larger cam, now just to find a good cam to go with it.

With the CR of a stock LQ9, leave everything as is except throw a used Z06 cam in (or an equivelant grind) and super charge or turbo it. No need to change anything but the injectors depending on boost. Even the stock truck intake & TB will work for 500-600 hp depending again on the boost & tune.

Have done this w/5.3 trk motors also with unreal results. Try it and show everyone what a budget FI buid can do....you won't be disapointed.
