Default so just how much boost on the LS4... opinions

Just want to get some idea of just what some of you FI guys think this motor will handle....i have numerous diff opinions local...but just want to see what you guys think...Im running 7-8psi right now...another guy with an LS4 front mount was running meth and 9 psi -11psi but blew his ring lands...so i have some people local in my ear saying too much fuel and meth combo is what blew the rings....and then some saying it has to souley deal with power levels...

here are some specks..

2008 "LS4" 5.3L V8 ( LS4 )
Type: 5.3L Gen IV V8 Small Block
Displacement: 5328cc (325 ci)
Compression ratio: 10:1
Valve configuration: overhead valves (2 valves per cylinder)
Assembly site: St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada
Valve lifters: hydraulic roller
Firing order: 1 - 8 - 7 - 2 - 6 - 5 - 4 - 3
Bore x stroke: 96.0 x 92.0 mm
Fuel system: sequential fuel injection
Fuel Type: Premium Fuel recommended
Ignition System: Coil-near-plug

Its an LSx no matter! so wondering why he was blowing ringlands on 9-11....i am thinking good to 10psi....11 is pushing...even with meth...

can't run alot of boost with 10:1 comp... u need 2 step colder plugs, an air intake and headers/good open exhaust and good tuning...

Well so u guys know it's not tge 5.3 your used to thinking of...it's aluminum short block..not truck...I have from factory 243 heads and so u guys know I'm rear mount...headers will kill my spool time and air velocity...so want to stay manifold from what Ive researched...so it comes downy to what the LS4 can handle...and even with no KR or anything else and good tune...9-11 psi blows ring lands lol...I want to bump to 9 but just need some more opinions as far as pro other saying...just get a good tune...lol no offense:-) and I appreciate the insight!

get a better tuner and improve your fuel system if not alredy. also swap on a set of 317s and some ls9 gaskets and studs. that will allow more psi and the heads flow the same as 243. benefit of bigger chamber, better gaskets and studs

he's right lower that compression and you can start pushing some real boost. Stock bottom end talon used to hold 20 psi from a 20g with 9.0-1 compression

throw some 317 heads on there. that will lower the compression almost a full point
