Default 6.0L cast block question

hey just wanting to verify something about the blocks. there are two different styles right. the early and late models. you need the late model right? and if it had aluminum heads does that mean for sure it is the right one to build?

the blocks are the same. the 1999 and 2000 blocks had a crank with a .400 longer crank flange. the 2001 and later had a std crank flange with a .400 spacer on it.

your talking about the Lq4 and Lq9. Like said crank is just longer at the back on the earlier ones. Some folks believe you can bore the earlier ones out further if you were going to the max. I dont know this for a fact.

Am i just thinking about the ls2 or does the lq9 also have the cam sensor located else where. As i bought an extension then never even opened it because i bought an lq4. Remainds me i need to sell that thing.

Does this come in to play if a stroker kit is used?
What year style will it be, or are either available?

well i was talking to the guy who would be doing the tuning and he said to make sure i get the right block for the build or i will be banging my head against the wall trying to get everything to bolt up. said something about flywheel clearance problems with the older style blocks. said that it should be out of an 02 or later.
