Default ls2 long block in my 2000 SS

just ran thru 12" of water in my dropped SS and hydro locked the motor. Getting insurance money 1st of next week. I can get a good deal on a LS2 long block out of a 05 C6 with less than 40K miles. Just going to cam it with rod and head bolts and some .040 cometics for some spray.

questions....

WILL MY LS6 INTAKE FIT?
WILL MY ACC. ALL FIT?
WHAT DO I NEED TO DO ABOUT MY RELUCTOR WHEEL?
ARP ROD BOLTS AND HEAD STUDS ENOUGH FOR THE 150 SHOT WITH A FRESH MILLED HEAD AND COMETIC GASKETS?

Anything else I need to consider if I'm going with the LS2?

I don't really want the weight of the LQ9 unless i'm going FI. Any help will be appreciated. I get my check soon so I need to make a decision.

I can answer a few of your ?s,
Yes, Your LS6 intake will fit
Yes, all your acc will bolt right on.
As for the lq9 i believe there is only a 80# gain over the aluminum block.

I have a 6.0 motor with 317 heads in my T/A, you will like it a lot. I have ARP rod and head bolts and I was told my car would handle a 150 shot w/o a problem.

You will need a cam extension harness from katech along with a knock sensor harness extension because the new knock sensors will have to be drilled and tapped on the side of the block. The reluctor wheel as long as the block is an 05 should have a 24x reluctor wheel and to my knowledge ls2's in 06 also got them but be sure and check if it is a 58x you can buy a conversion box from katech also.

^^^^^^Yep you will need the cam position sensor harness ext. and both knock sensor ext.

Yeah a 150 shot will be fine with a good tune and Lingenfelter also sells a box if the LS2has the 58X reluctor.

Damn Kenny. You must have been waiting for me to post about my ls2 options. I hope to get my insurance check today and i will be taking my LS2 to rpm tomorrow. IDK about Adam. He is picking up the motor from me today so he should be headed your way very soon.

katech knock sensor extension harness and cam angle sensor harness and bolt it up. The motor is out of an 05 C6.

http://store.katechengines.com/cam--...rness-p18.aspx

This is all I need? Besides some bigger injecters and a walbro fuel pump? My 2000 LS1 came with 26lbers. I'm thinking some 36lbers and a walbro witha hard wire kit??

Now for the million$$ question.

WHAT CAM???

228R, Torquer V2, or oem LS6 cam??

I would like to just buy a used LS6 cam and save the valve spring money for my HSW wet kit. If not I will be doing the TSP single spring package with the PAC 1518's and a mild cam. TV2,228R, etc.

You need 2 ls2 knock sensors, just bolt them to the oil pan bolts, its not hard to wire them yourself, the cam sensor a 3 wire.cant be too hard.you have to reverse the outside wires on the plug.and if its an early 05 model it is a 24 reluctor crank.i think if the crank sensor's black, its 24x,if its grey its 58x,or vise versa?
