Default Help Needed, Identification of an Aluminum Intake and Fuel injectors

I purchased and intake today that the guy said it was a LS6 intake. Problem is that it is a square port intake and its aluminum.

It is a full satin finish intake with absolutly no markings what so ever. (looks like an true lS2/LS3 intake not a professional products style)

It has a Ls2 map sensor on the rear of the intake (non-bolt down) (this is the old LS1 design)

LS2/LS3 stainless fuel rail (without dampner) LS2/LS3 USCAR injectors

the injectors I do not believe are stock, the numbers on them are:

B589S36107/07 ( the number 5 is upside down) it also has a 283 and 927 on it. Blue upper oring, green lower oring.

Old Ls1 style 3 bolt throttle body flange. With LS3 intake ports (not Cathedral style.... they are the big rectangle style aka LS3)

throttle body size : 85mm

Intake ports size : 30mm wide x 62/63mm tall

i believe it to be a Weiand style LS3 intake but their is no identification what so ever. When I go to Weiand's website it shows only the ls1 intake for cathedral ports, not the LS3 ports.

I would like to know who manufactured this and what size the injectors are (worst case I will send them out to be flow tested)

Any help would be appreciated. I will get pictures up asap.

Thanks Lance

Thats what I'm saying, I have seen professional products LS3 intake, and it is totally different with the runners. I have called GM about the injectors and they said that they are definitly not a stock injector.

as for the intake I called Holley aka Wieand and asked if they had an aluminum intake for the LS3 and they said that they did not. There wasn't enough demand for an Ls3 intake like the LS6.

still looking.....

I find it strange that even though its aluminum, it still has the supports in the middle. Is it possibly from something foreign?

Thats a super odd ball there. It has LS3 style ports yet a 3 bolt throttle body mount.

Is it possibly from something foreign?

PROTOTYPE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Seriously though, I have never seen/heard of that. Are there no markings on the intake?
Those intake bolt holes look very low, maybe an LS7 intake? The fuel rails look like LS7 or truck parts to me.

I am thinking it is a prototype as well, just because Im so close to detroit and I know a few guys that just happen to get trailer loads of GM prototype motors. I have seem some crazy combo's in the last few years. Like a 454 with cathedral ports, LT4 383 from GM made in 2002, yes 2002.

I know we have some weird stuff floating around, but I was hopeing it was a production intake.

I sent the injectors to Injector Connection to get flow tested, I will take the intake in to class and flow test the ports sometime this month.

Everything looks factory for the intake but 85mm throttle body has me wondering. Why would they use it? better velocity flow, or possibly a factory test to see if they could get away with an 85mm so they didnt have to go to a 90mm?

I am 90% sure it is an LS3. the other 10% is the 3 bolt throttle body flange.

Ok I came into another problem today. I know for fact it is LS3 ports, but the throttle body opening has me confused.

If you look at how the gasket goes on the intake, it is not a standard LS1 gasket.

Also my truck DBW throttle body well wont even bolt up because it is to short.

anyone have any clue what style throttle body this takes?

Are the three bolts in the same location for your stock TB?

well sort of, the bottom 2 will bolt up just fine, but since the truck throttle body is I believe 75mm and the opening is 85mm the upper hole is much taller then the 5.3 DBW throttle body.

I looked for the LS1 85mm throttle body but where the vent tube would go doesnt match a std LS1, or LS6 gasket nor port opening.

I tried looking at different manifolds and seeing which used this style gasket and found none.

Intake is now on ebay. I am selling or willing to trade for a LS6 intake for my truck.

I was contacted by approx. 30 people and actually Bob Hilton from Hilton Motorsports met me half way and we swapped for a complete Ls6 top end kit that was brand new.
