My 6.0 iron block was filled up to the water pump ports with Hard Blok for stability and bored to 4.07". I would not feel comfortable boring one any farther than that without significant sonic testing. And only with a shorter crank than the 4.100" I am using to minimize side loading the cylinder wall between bottom dead center and the middle of the stroke.

Is the iron 5.3 is the same as the iron 6.0 in terms of the water jackets between the cylinders walls?
If yes, then l would make an experiment to bore the 5.3 iron block to 4.06"...

With in my area there are a lot of 4.8 & 5.3 iron blocks

The 5.3 iron blocks have more water between the cylinders on the ones I have seen. You can bore them to 3.900 but 4.000 would probably not be anything I would run.
