Default Scat or Manley Crankshaft?

What crank would be more reliable for a 500 horsepower motor? Scat 4" or Manley 4".

i'll take a Manley anytime over a scat. We've made over 1000hp with a Manley ls1 crank. I use alot of their cranks, rods and pistons.

They can get them, I think its because they are a new vendor, may not have all of our parts lined up yet. -Adam @ Callies

How do I buy your products at Atech pricing? Do I call them with part numbers?

I'd say callies/compstar.
But stock crankshafts in LS motors have seen 1000+ horsepower before...

I'm glad I posted this tread. Just got off the phone with Callies. Sounds like they're the way to go.

Go Callies ~
Compstar made by Callies are forged over seas and machined in the US.
BTW do not let "Made in China" through you off, reason stuff is garbage their is because the engineers in the US make them use cheaper metals to keep cost down. Example Piston 2618 alloy here is the same compound as in China.

I have a manley crank in mine. Cost as much as an eagle with the quality of callies, really cant beat it. Most cranks are forged over seas and machined here, just my .02. Not many foundaries left in the us.

^^^^^Correct, Compstar is our off-shore brand, we engineer it, it is manufactured over seas, and we finish it in house. Callies Magnum and DragonSlayer are 100% American (start to finish in Fostoria, OH). The forgings are from Bharat forge, located in Lansing Michigan.

Well not sure but ive seen the magnum well over 2000hp. which is is pretty much the same as dragonslayer.

The few more dollars for the dragonslayer is well worth it. very nice crank plus resell value is alot more. (side note also helping keep jobs in US)

Go with the Callies LSC 5340 forging. Much cheaper and reliable to your hp needs...
