How far can I push this setup??
I have a L76 motor out of an 08 max pickup. It has the 823 heads and aluminum block. I was gonna set it up for a turbo or supercharger and was wondering how much power will it take with most everything being stock? Was gonna replace the rod bolts on the bottom end and maybe have the heads cnc ported. New cam-Getting rid of the D.O.D. Other than that everything else will be stock.
How hard can I push this setup like this. Basically how much horsepower will this take. I think the motor is 9.5 compression btw...

I see they only recommend 550 hp with the stock pistons in all ls motors without forged pistons and I think only the new zr1 ls9 vette has forged pistons. I see alot of people pushing them way past that though. So I'd say your pretty close on 600 rwhp judging off of that.

Thanks man... Same to you bro. I hear ya on the crank but if i have to buy rods and pistons already, I might as well stroke it out too!! I'll have to check out those head studs when the time comes. Scoggin-dickey have head studs for I think 269 if I remember correct. Not sure what shipping is.

Yeah man, know what you mean. My build is consisting of a stock stroke, but a much lighter Callies Dragonslayer Crank, Compstar H Beams, and Wiesco flat tops with side coating and valve relief. Lighter stuff and stock stroke so I can spin it 7000
