Default My setup

Hi guys,

I have a 1999 Corvette with bolt ons, G5X3 cam, stalled A4, 3.73, etc., the flexplate broke up and it did a lot of damage, cracked block, cracked header, cracked bell housing, etc., because of the damage I bought an LS2 short block, but It had a lot of wear on the cam bearings so I'm going to refresh it with Katech Rod bolts, new bearings and Total Seal rings for stock pistons, This parts was on the LS1 that I'm going to use in the LS2:

G5X3 234/242 112+4 lsa Cam
Fast 102mm/LS2 TB
Melling Oil Pump
1 7/8 Kooks Headers / 3" X-Pipe
SLP Underdrive Pulley

I have a brand new set of Trick Flow 215cc heads that I was going to use in the LS1, now I'm going to mill them to 62cc and put it on the LS2 with GM MLS gaskets, Yella Terra Ultra lights, LS7 lifters, 42lbs injectors, Racetronix fuel pump, etc.

I have a few questions:

1.- I know that with the stock buttom end, the heads milled to 62cc and stock GM MLS gaskets the compression is going to be like 11.1:1, could someone calculate my DCR with the G5X3 234/242 112+4 lsa Cam?
2.- Is that compression good for 92oct gas?
3.- How many rwhp should it put?
4.- The LS1 cam only ran best ET 11.81, what times i will run with this new setup?.

I'll apreciate your help

Thanks
Sergio

Here are some pics of the damage

It's stock LS2 short block 4.000 x 3.622, the only cam numbers I know are 234/242 600/610 112+4 lsa it's the G5X3 from LG, the heads milled to 62cc stock GM gasket.

Thanks

Gaz is right, not enough info... But using similar Comp lobes (in PianoPodigy's XL calculator), I'm getting 11.44 static and 8.74 dynamic. Below 9.0 should be OK for pump gas.

Mhh that's higher than I thought, 8.74 for 92 oct is high, right? Maybe I should leave the cc in 64.

Thanks

Yup, too high. After further research it looks like 8.5 is the max for decent pump gas...

Using the calculator in this page

http://www.empirenet.com/pkelley2/DynamicCR.html

Duration at .006 is 283/291 XE-R lobes I think, and the results are: SCR 11.04 DCR 8.44 with 62cc and GM MLS .051 gasket, I think this is better.
