Default SPONSORS - need a budget, built LQ9 shortblock

Looking for an LQ9 short block for to replace my blown (not the good kind) LS1. I have about 2K to spend. I'd like to contact a rep on the phone, but there are so many sponsors on here, I'm not sure where to start. if this is in the wrong section, Mods feel free to move it.

Thanks so much for the help! I'll be pulling the old motor tomorrow as I have a free week to focus on it. If your a rep and think your shop would be able to build a budget minded block, please let me know. If any of you guys have had a good experience with a shop building you a BUDGET conscious short-block, please feel free to offer your input.

Thanks again guys,

-Chris

P.S. I'll be posting a thread on the build as soon as I get some good pics of the motor being pulled.

The 2k is conservative, but Id like to keep it as close as possible. I saw this vendor in the past, but was unable to find much information on them and their products. I'm a bit hesitant to pull the trigger without some better info. I'll give them a call in the morning.

Thats my other route. I haven't had much luck locally. Where would you guys look? I keep checking online in multiple forums, in pick and pull type places, etc, with no luck. This is my first time sourcing a motor. I know where to get everything else, but the shortblock is putting everything on hold right now.

This would probably be the cheapest route to go provided the block and the crank are still in good shape. If not you could probably find a used LS1 or LQ9 on ebay or something for less than $1000.00. If you want to go with a forged rotating assmebly then the website provided above is a good way to go. It's not hard to build a short block and remember it's just the block. It's not where your power is made from.. Good luck buddy..

As long as the block is fine you should be ok. LS1 cranks are fairly cheap, heck even a 383 kit is under $2K. Plus it looks like your car is more road race/auto-X so you'd be able to keep the extra weight off the nose. Or just buy a used shortblock and get some ported 243's

Ill be using L92 heads and an LS3 or L76 intake for the top end, and I'll try to reuse the TR224/224 144 cam from the old motor. I'm looking for durability more than anything. I'm thinking the block is not reusable, but i'll know more tomorrow when I tare it apart.
