Default Forged rotaining assembly

I have a lq9 thats extremely stout 10.80s n/a with 11.1 comp. Im getting close to the max for the rods and pistons so I want to buy a rotating assembly where should I go? Should I stroke it? I have cnc'd 5.3 heads with 220cc runners, block has 35k on it so walls still look good. The only reason Im thinking of doing this is b/c I want to spray it and with the pistons fly cut I'm afraid to do it!

What are you using the motor for? street, track, both? Strokers are good for a lot of torque but don't wind up fast like a race motor. I would look at Texas Speed for a rotating assembly. They will balance it for you which makes it easy.

Mostly street but might see the track few times a yr. Im thinking forged stock bore for spray! If Im right all I need is pistons and rods the stock crank should hold 1k hp correct?

I would for sure stroke it then. All that extra torque will be really fun for the street. And spray can't hurt it. If your going to buy the parts, you might as well go for the 4" crank IMO

Boy if that ain't a crock of **** if I ever heard it. Tell David Lazear(former owner Gulf Coast Racing Engines and SAM graduate) that his 408 stroker don't wind up fast. Also tell Judson Massengill that his 454 doesn't rev fast.

You can call anyone of our sponsors and they will be glad to help you. I got mine from TSP. Speed Inc setups come already balanced which is a big help. AES makes some pretty stout combos. You can't go wrong with any of them just watch your budget I'm 8500 into my 416 and I still have a ways to go. Good luck with the build.

1k hp in a turbo setup works fine because there is less violence going on compared to nitrous. With the high cylinder pressures and spikes of nitrous can put a beating on a crank and cause issues. If you are only going to be spraying a 150-200 you are ok anymore than that I would upgrade the crank

I have emailed HKE and AES so hope I can STAY in budget, If I can unload this 99k mile ls1 it would help. I have 3k tied up in the lq9's current setup which runs 10.80 n/a and 10.40s on a 50 shot which is not to shabby but I want to have peace of mind with a forged motor and the ability to spray the house down if need be

It's just common sense with a longer stroke. It's very minimal but nothing you'd notice in a street car

If you are going to spray the house down then don't even mess with a stock crank. At the minimum use a Compstar crank from callies. Eagle and scat I really don't care for. They are comparable in price and the Compstar is finished here in the states.

Almost damn near the same price as a stroker crank.

No you won't. You just end up with a 402 instead of a 408.

Just upgrade the heads at a later time. Those prc 5.3's will hold for a little while. When you replace the heads it will be like a new motor all over again.

A 4.005" is just cleaned up with a hone. I would unload the 5.3's to some F body guys and invest in some ls3 heads. The complete manifolds can be had for around 300 with injectors an rails.

I'd say if you can, upgrade those 5.3's. I'd go ls3, LsA or Ls9 heads. Ls9's if your gonna spray the **** out of it.
