yea i thought so but wasnt sure because i never here of them going bad.....how many are there? part numberS?

There are 2 hoses that connect the water pump to the firewall. You can save a bunch of money by taking the old assembly off, cutting the crimped factory clamps and replacing with appropriate size hoses. Your car is a 98 - don't expect soft parts to live forever.

Take a look at them in your car now and you will understand why it is easier to change with engine out. Looks to me factory installed these way before the k-member and engine was lifted into place.
