Default Ls2 cylinder service question

What is the max service spec for a 05 ls2? I have searched and got no solid answer. 10 people say the max is .006 then another 10 say its .060, then another 10 say .030.

I is confused, Can anyone help with some solid, Accurate info on this? I will be turbo-ing this engine.

Thanks in advance.
Daniel

Ask a dealer what over size pistons are available. After that which is a solid GM engineering view, everything else is really just an opinion.

Pretty much an indicator of what GM thinks works.

We have seen some people go 4.030" on an LS2 block but that is not something we would ever do because it kills a lot of sleeve. You don't pick up much power at all, so IMO it's not a good idea because it kills the blocks ability to hold big power.

The common thing is .005 over or .010. GM has the max spec at 4.020. From what I have heard the sleeves are .100-.105. Even at 4.03, which I am doing, you still have thicker sleeves then a stock LS1 sleeve.

On that data I would ask, what are your plans for the motor? If you do big FI or big N2O shot, I would stay at the 4.005 or so spec. Off the shelf pistons are really easy to come by on that bore.

If I am not mistaken the gm performance parts catalog lists .020 ls2 pistons.
