Default (LS2) Strange noise coming from engine when turning over by hand

I pulled the plugs out of my 05 LS2 to spray some fogging oil in the cylinders while the car is away for the winter. While i was turning it over by hand i noticed a distinctly metallic sound coming from the engine about every 180 degree rotation of the crank. Engine is bone stock 30k, engine sounds totally normal when running. If i stop turning after it makes the sound and turn back it doesn't make the sound again so i don't think its rubbing of any kind. Someone please help me before I tear my engine apart for no reason!!
I included a link to a video so you can hear it.

M6 or A4? Can you pinpoint the general area the sound is coming from?

M6 in neutral, can't pin point where the sound is coming from yet I am going to use a stethoscope when I can get a friend to turn it over for me.

I noticed the same exact noise when I installed my LS3 heads almost 50,000 miles ago. When I replaced my cam about 15,000 miles ago, it was still making the same noise. Never figured out what it was.

After finding several similar stories on various forums I am beginning to wonder if it is just something inherent with the engine and even a brand new one would make it?? I just don't like not knowing what it is. I wonder if an engine with no tranny and no clutch would make the same noise??

Thanks for the help so far guys, I hope I can find an answer and have a good night sleep soon!!!

Thanks for the video ShoddyHog that is the EXACT sound mine is making, and with no heads on yours I guess we can rule out valvetrain other than cam and timing chain...

Can rule out the cam and timing chain too. It made the same noise with those removed and spinning it around so I could set up to degree the cam.

I didn't lose any sleep over it. Had a cam installed at 45,000 miles, and found this noise at 70,000 when I installed LS3 heads. Since I did the work myself (on the LS3 swap), I was sure it either came that way stock or something the first guy did. Either way, I was sure it ran 25,000 miles without coming apart, so I wasn't about to pull the block.

Brand new ones do make the noise, it is a normal noise, have a good sleep, 'cause there is nothing wrong with your car (concerning that noise anyways).

I've heard this many times, it's the springs in the clutch pressure plate moving. If you were to take the pressure plate out and shake it, you would hear the same noise

bumping a VERY old thread just to say thank you for the clear video. rotated mine over by hand with the trans installed and had this noise. Was concerned I had clutch install issues, but now I'm more comfy its just the springs making noise
